This excursion is a day trip to the rural village of Ijjoukak located in the high Atlas Mountains. The day will commence with an early collection returning in the evening. Initially, you will start your day with a visit to the local community Argan oil processing co-operative in Tahnaout to learn about the legendary Argan Oil, its benefits and the production processes before then heading to Ijjoukak.
On route to Ijjoukak you will have the opportunity to stop at Moulay Brahim, Amasse N’Kik and Ourigane. You will then be taken to Tinmel Mosque to explore the 12th century architectural wonder highlighting true craftmanship. It is highly rated in Moroccan history. Following ibn Toumert’s pilgrimage to Mecca in the 11th century, his successor, Abdelmoumen Ibn Ali, provided the mosque in the village of Tinmel. The village then became a real cultural and spiritual centre of the empire.
Following the visit, you will be taken to a local guest house where you will be hosted a traditional Berber lunch and taken to Tizi N’Test to enjoy the great mountainous views at a great height.
